The Staff Engineer supports the acquisition, organization, processing, exchange, and archival of clinical research data and metadata from multiple, dispersed geographic locations and across various data acquisition systems and data storage platforms; works closely with Institute Faculty, research fellows and other scientists and engineers and IT professionals to implement the most effective data-collection methods and instrumentation strategies for specific data types and collection environments; contributes to the design, specification, integration, & troubleshooting of analog/digital data acquisition and signal conditioning systems; Analyzes complex data sets and signals and ensures high quality retrieval of signals; delivers new database design and programming as well as integration of new data to existing Wyss databases or Wyss-affiliated clinical databases; develops data acquisition, transfer and storage protocols and ensures information security and compliance with government, regulatory agency and industry standards.
M.S. in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline is required. Ph.D. preferred. At least 3 years of industry experience in research and/or product development is required in the areas of instrumentation, data acquisition, signal processing and data management and applications such as patient monitoring in intensive care and home health care. |
