We are seeking a highly motivated junior-level scientist. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, along with a solid background in the life sciences.  The selected individual will join the Discovery Biologics group at our company’s Boston site and will primarily be responsible for the purification of therapeutic protein and antibody leads from mammalian cell culture and from cutting-edge high-throughput protein expression platforms.  The candidate will also be expected to interface with other functional groups including upstream expression workflows and the downstream analytical group. Good communication skills are critical as is the ability to present scientific data to multi-functional teams.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s in biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or related disciplines

Understanding of protein expression systems, preferably mammalian

Understanding of protein purification techniques such as affinity, size exclusion chromatography, and ion exchange

Ability to run multiple workflows in parallel

Ability to present and communicate data at team meetings

Preferred:

Basic knowledge of molecular biology skills including plasmid transformation and growth and induction of E.coli.
