Beam is seeking a motivated individual to join our lead discovery and off-target biology group. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing efforts to assess the totality of the genome-modifying potential of our next-generation base editing technology. Candidates should be highly self-motivated with the ability to excel in a fast-moving and goal-oriented environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support efforts to develop, design and execute assays to assess the genome-modifying potential of base editors.
Molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation.
Mammalian cell culture.
Maintain detailed documentation of experiments in ELN system.
Coordinate and work with other teams at Beam in a highly matrixed environment.
Qualifications:
BS/MS in a biological science with prior experience in industry or academia.
Extensive experience in molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction), NGS (DNA/RNA sequencing library preparation and quantification, familiarity with Illumina sequencing platforms e.g. Miseq) and cell biology (cell culture and transfection).
Knowledge of gene editing tools and principles is preferred but not required.
Self-motivation, multi-tasking, trouble-shooting and an attention to detail is required.
