Beam is seeking a motivated individual to join our lead discovery and off-target biology group. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing efforts to assess the totality of the genome-modifying potential of our next-generation base editing technology. Candidates should be highly self-motivated with the ability to excel in a fast-moving and goal-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support efforts to develop, design and execute assays to assess the genome-modifying potential of base editors.
Molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation.
Mammalian cell culture.
Maintain detailed documentation of experiments in ELN system.
Coordinate and work with other teams at Beam in a highly matrixed environment.

BS/MS in a biological science with prior experience in industry or academia.
Extensive experience in molecular biology (PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction), NGS (DNA/RNA sequencing library preparation and quantification, familiarity with Illumina sequencing platforms e.g. Miseq) and cell biology (cell culture and transfection).
