The Discovery organization seeks a highly motivated and skilled Scientist to join our Immunology Discovery team at our Company’s Boston site. The main areas of focus of the Immunology group are autoimmunity, inflammation, and immunosenescence. You will focus on designing and performing experiments using functional in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo cell-based assays to advance drug discovery research programs from target validation through to clinical candidates. You will develop and execute experimental strategies to define biomarkers, mechanism of action and mechanism of resistance to therapeutic agents. The successful candidate is expected to keep abreast of published scientific literature and present his/her data at internal group meetings. The successful candidate will an individual contributor with deep scientific curiosity, excellent oral and written communication skills, work well independently and as part of a collaborative team, and be able to work on several projects simultaneously.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS degree in the biological sciences, with 1-5 years of experience in the area of Immunology.

Required Experience and Skills:

Candidate must have expertise with multi-parameter flow cytometry, conducting in vitro experiments to investigate immune function and familiarity with technologies commonly used to assess immune endpoints.

Experience in cell culture, immunoassay techniques/platforms (e.g., proliferation/cytotoxicity/apoptosis assays), as well as RT-PCR.

Experience performing in vivo mouse experiments.

Competent in standard scientific software used for data.

Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to present scientific data in group setting.

Excellent organization to multi – task and manage multiple projects.

Ability to adapt to rapid changes in projects priorities and meet aggressive timelines.

Committed to working in a collaborative manner across functional areas within a matrixed organization.

Good data handling and recording skills as well as the ability to interpret moderately complex data sets and draw appropriate conclusions from them.
