High School Summer Internship Application

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is thrilled to offer the second year of this paid mentored internship program for high school, undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students across Massachusetts thanks to our faculty and the philanthropic support of the Biogen Foundation. Participants will be matched with a diverse group of mentors at MGH Neurology, to immerse in team-based neurology research; participate in interactive learning sessions on neurology topics and related careers; write scientific abstracts and manuscripts; nurture their leadership skills; share their talents with the broader community; and join a robust network of peers and mentors. This program will be offered 100% remotely, with most activities happening “asynchronously” (without live video) and approximately 6 hours of “synchronous” time per week (via live video conferencing for required talks and meetings).

We are looking for students who are: (1) interested in learning more about neurology and neurology-related careers; (2) available to participate full time in program activities; (3) rising high school seniors or rising college Freshman for Fall 2021; (4) living or studying in Massachusetts; and (5) current or past participants of programs focused on supporting the academic development of students underrepresented in science or medicine (see page 2 for examples of eligible programs).
