Vertex Fellow Program provides a unique opportunity to explore while contributing to real-world projects at Vertex. This one-year post-doc program is designed to augment a traditional post-doc. Our Fellows are embedded in our research teams, receive mentorship from senior leaders and learn about the science and business of drug discovery and development.

VPI Program invites physician-scientists committed to making lasting impact in the industry to work on innovative projects and get training in diverse roles across drug development while ensuring employment security. Each Physician Investigator will receive mentorship from senior leaders at Vertex and be embedded in existing teams for 4 six-month rotations, which include drug discovery, translational medicine, clinical development, commercial operations and business development. Upon completion of their 2-year training, participants will be placed in mutually agreed upon permanent roles at Vertex.

Internship Program

Each year we have internship opportunities across all functional areas. A Vertex Intern experience includes:

  • A challenging and meaningful 10-week assignment beginning; end of May/early June -ending the first week of August
  • Participation in professional development workshops and networking events with Vertex employees
  • An end-of-summer capstone event that will capture your learnings and share your experience with the broader company
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate/advanced degree program if graduating in Spring of current academic year
  • Minimum 0 GPA preferred
