Aetna Health Professions Partnership Initiative - Pre-College Enrichment Program

Program Timeframe: summer (six weeks)

Academic Level Targeted: college pre-freshman who will be matriculating at the University of Connecticut

Racial/Ethnic Focus: any racial/ethnic group, African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian, or others from disadvantaged backgrounds

Type of Program: mentoring, career/academic planning, courses in English, chemistry, mathematics, and study skills

Program Attributes: for credit, meals provided, housing provided, books/supplies provided, stipend provided, mentors/advisors provided

Program Acceptance Requirements: matriculation at this school (University of Connecticut), class year (pre-freshman), disadvantaged status (economically/educationally disadvantaged)

Primary Science Discipline(s) Targeted: dentistry, medicine, PhD programs in biomedical or behavioral health research

Additional Comments: Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria, and have a high probability of fulfilling the social and educational goals of this program. Primary consideration is given to students who have participated in the University of Connecticut Health Center Aetna Health Professions Partnership Initiative and Rowe Scholars Program.
